Enugu State Government Commences repairs of collapsed Udi Road

Image
Enugu Road Collapse The Enugu State Government has commenced repairs on a major road in Udi Local Government Area of the state. A section of the interstate linking road had caved in about two weeks ago after a downpour, making the movement of residents difficult. But the Commissioner for Works in the state, Greg Nnaji, says the commencement of repairs will in no time, help to alleviate the suffering of the people. Speaking to Channels Television, a resident who decried the state of the road,  appreciated the government for intervening. She said, “I thank God for this intervention because when the road caved in, everybody was afraid because it became narrow and cars wobble when they pass through it. We thank the government and ask that they do more on the other side.” The state government has, however, called on the Federal Government to reimburse funds spent on federal roads in the state, to enable it carry out its elected responsibilities. The Niger State Government has appealed to the Federal Government to intervene after 40 people were killed in the state following a flood disaster. Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State made this appeal on Thursday after a visit to persons displaced by the flood. The governor noted that the flood disaster is beyond control of the state government. “More than 100 communities have been submerged completely by water. It doesn’t appear as if the water is receding. Infact, I think we should expect more. It is very disturbing. “The situation definitely is getting out of hand and I think it’s beyond what the state can do. At this point, we have to request support from the Federal Government,” he said. He noted that most of the affected communities have no food and steps must be taken to provide them food and other relieve materials. All three brands have now been withdrawn from sale. “Until advised, consumers should cut up strawberries before consuming them,” Queensland state government said in a statement. I am specifically writing this considering the economical and environment factors in Nigeria. I was opportune to be a crew member of those screening candidates who applied for a job opportunity in a company. It was an experience I am glad I had. As a young undergraduate, I also learnt a lot from this experience. It is no longer strange that we’ve all complained that there are no jobs in Nigeria. But you should believe me when I say there are jobs in companies. Though, these jobs do not come often, but once publication is made by a company who wants to recruit new workers; how well are you prepared for such impromptu notification of jobs? ECONOMICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS In Nigeria, we all know that there are over 700 ethnic groups with different cultural backgrounds and
