Good Leadership

INGREDIENTS OF GOOD LEADERSHIP

From the genesis of things, man has always been ordained to lead; from the garden of Eden, the kings of Israel and most great leaders of the past, it shows that leadership is a God ordained course.
A Leader is one who takes control, organise, assign, take risk and take responsibility of the outcome and also serve. He is the number  one subject of his own teritory. He is the head and also the tail. A leader is more than the name. On the other hand, Leadership is the act of leading; the process of leading.
Everyone is capable of being a leader but not everyone will eventually succeed as a leader. This as a result that leadership has it own sacrifice. Nevertheless, man is a leader in one area or the other. In what ever area he found himself leading, he must take to himself the responsibility of a leader. Leadership can be seen as  mango seeds.
In every mango seed there is a tree and that tree can be a mango forest. It is interesting to know that not every mango seed will end up being a tree and subsequently, a forest. All the mango seeds has all it takes, the potential to be mango trees but not all will make it due to other obstacles in the forest too. How does a mango seed then succeed to become a tree? How does a man succeed among his equals to become a leader - an exceptional good leader?

MAKING OF LEADER
Leadership is not taking the lead but by making the lead and sustaining in the leading forefront. Leadership is not position. A leader leaves a legacy not just bearing the name or occupying a position. Leadership is how many people you are able to influenced. Leadership is not an appointment but an attainment. It is the power to influence other people to do what they ordinarily will not do for their own good. The making of a leader has it own ingredients.

Leadership is self management: This is the ability of a man to manage himself. In order words, how a man organises and control himself is the first condiment of becoming a good leader. One can not lead others when he can not lead himself. The way a man manages his home, cloths, pets, school activities, job, family and other personal issues, also he will manage the outside world.
Managing one's self is setting goals for one self. According to Bill Newman in his book, "10 Laws of Leadership", he pointed that leaders are goal setter, that is, they have vision and ability of tye leader to manage himself will lead him to the attainment of his goals and vision. If you can not manage yourself, others will tell you what to do. According to Newman, leaders also possesses decipline, wisdom, courage, humility, decision maker, develops friendship e.t.c. A leader is self determine.

Time management: Time is all we have in life. Time and destiny works side by side. So managing your time is of paramount issue of a leader. "Give to me my youth and i will pay anything for it" said by Nnamdi Azikiwe. The youthful age is very important. Time is all we can spent. A leader must have self and time management. Procrastination is a thief of destiny. When you play or procrastinate when you ought to work, you will work when you ought to rest.

Task management: A good leader should be able to manage his task. Good leaders are not discouraged by the daily reports. "They are long term thinkers who see beyond the day's crisis and quarterly reports". Said Newman.

Resource Management: Apart from time (which is also a form of super natural resource), there are other resources that a good leader should manage to achieve his visions. Managing your resources also include having the courage to act on your own ideas despite possible failure, pains and tears. A leader must know his rightful resources.
