White man joined Nigeria Police Force

Image
A trending photo of unknown white man in the Nigeria police uniform has been spotted.  Before now, It's unusual to see a white man joined the Nigeria military. Recently a white man whose name is unknown to FocyTalk had been spotted in the Nigeria police force uniform. Many wonder what was wrong with him and  assumed he like suffering so he decided to join the NPF. Others assumed he would be killed by his colleagues for being truthful in dealing with citizens. For us, we think if it right for a Nigerian to be appointed in the United States political affairs and other key positions including the U.S military, there is nothing wrong for this man to be in the Nigeria Military. Why I haven't stopped protesting: #ENDSARS flag boy

Image
The iconic #ENDSARS flag boy has again expressed his reasons why he has not stopped protesting alone despite there been no more general protest since the Lekki shooting on October 20, 2020.  The ENDSARs flag boy has been one of the remarkable and iconic feature of the ENDSARs protest. He  motivated most people to join the protest through his iconic photos seen all over the internet. After about a month of Nigerian youths halting the protests to give the government time to implement their promises to fulfill the #endsars 5for5, the ENDSARS flag boy is still seen along the streets of Lagos matching with the #Soro #Soke hashtag and the Nigeria flag soaked in blood. To him, this is his own part to keep up the fight against police brutality and putting an end to bad leadership in Nigeria. He has expressed why he keeps matching the streets of Lagos with his flags.  "The Reason Why I Haven’t Stopped Protesting...many of the people that was killed at the Lekki toll-gate and some places a

A church that does not clap, dance or take offerings

Image
Any gathering where people clap and dance paves way for the devil's penetration - Ven. Adeniyi Oluwabiyi A cleric and the minister in charge of the Holy Flock of Christ Church, Ibadan Oyo State, Venerable Adeniyi Oluwabiyi has explained why clapping and dancing isn't allowed in his church. Ven Adeniyi Oluwabiyi In a chat with Nigeria Tribune, he said it a part of their doctrine.  "In our church, we don't clap. We have a way of expressing our joy. We say people expressed their joy while clapping in the church but Satan will come in to do otherwise.  In other churches where people go to the extreme by falling down all in the name of prophesying or seeing visions. No one falls down here. Any gathering where people clap, dance and fall uncontrollably paves way for the devil's penetration and manipulations.  We don't collect any form of offering in the church in other to observe the Sabbath day and keep his holy. The congregation go out to drop their offerings and r

Who will do the job I'm hired for if I criticise the government I'm part of? - Bashir Ahmad

Image
We all know it is very difficult to tell your boss he is not doing well. However, defending incompetence at the expense of people's lives is barbaric. Bashir Ahmad (left) and President Buhari (right) Bashir Ahmad, Personal assistant to the President Buhari has replied a comment telling him he is not bold enough to speak up against the government inability to fight Insecurities in the country especially the North Eastern part of the country. Replying to to the above tweet, a lady who wished Mr. Bashir Ahmad was bold enough to speak up. However, Bashir thinks it more appropriate not to speak on tweeter and moreover his job is not to speak on tweeter or criticise a government he is part of.

You have failed us!

Image
Living in Nigeria for the average citizens is now a factor of when and how long either Terrorist and Bandits let you live. Killing has become an early morning roster call we see and hear outside our windows. Those we've trusted with our lives and properties has failed us. Killing of all sort are being carried out while those who we trust with our ballots pick their teeth in soft loafers watching as we cry for help from the comfort of their homes guided by those who are supposed to guide us all. This is not the first time neither will it be the last time this will happen because they simply don't care what happens as long is not their party member or leader who has been killed or their family members. This is no longer a matter of "thank God I'm not the one dead" but a matter of "when it be your turn." If we must survive we must speak up irrespective of your religion, region and color as long as you live within the four walls of the country; Speak up! The

OPINION BY SIMON KOLAWOLE: The collapse of common sense, The Cable

Image
In my previous article, I tried to remind us of what we have always known and talked about: that oil boom flatters to deceive. The world is, meanwhile, desperately looking for alternatives to crude oil — with several advanced countries setting dates, starting from 2025, to phase out vehicles powered by fossil fuels such as petrol and diesel. Sadly, Nigeria’s economic (and, perhaps, political) fortune is tied to the price of crude oil. The higher the price, the happier we are, and the merrier our mood. A little fall in oil price and the entire economy goes into a spiral: naira depreciating against the dollar; government revenues plummeting; public debts piling up; and inflation digging holes in our pockets. Typically, oil exports account for 90 percent of government’s FX earnings. For a nation that imports far more than it exports, this is absolutely scary, especially as oil prices are not what they used to be and lower production quotas mean we are losing on at least two fronts. How ca

When Nigeria Vision is defined, quality, educational, political, economic welfare policies are defined. By PST. Sam Adeyemi

My friend, Pastor Agbo Oni-Orisan, said his family once contracted a tiler to replace the bathroom tiles at their home in Germany, while they were away on vacation.  Pastor Sam Adeyemi When they returned, he observed the tiler had done a near-perfect job, except for a pretty short line. He called the tiler to let him know he did a great job. He mentioned the spot that wasn’t perfect but said they could leave it since it wasn’t easily noticeable. The tiler insisted he was coming back to correct the error. He pulled down all the tiles he laid and relaid all the tiles perfectly. Excellence is a personal value for him, but not for him only.  My friend explained that doing one’s work with excellence is part of what makes one a German. It’s in the national value system. Any surprise that Germany supplies the world with high quality cars, electronics, etc., and is the largest economy in Europe?  He said if one is not pleased with the conduct of a German, just say “My friend, that is not Germa
